Firedam Boring Capacity - Horizontal Directional Drilling

We have recently updated acquired our fleet of horizontal directional drilling machines and purchased four new machines. They are capable of completing bores from 50mm to 900mm in diameter in all types of ground conditions and material

Boring Experience

Firedam Civil have completed many km of bores, some in very difficult terrain. The following represents a brief summary of our past experience with several clients. Other clients included developers, civil contractors, builders, water utility bodies, local government and other government departments.

Karratha Airport – Hydraulic Upgrade
Road crossings from 150mm to 300mm diameter in Pindan type material for water, sewer, fire and recycled fluids.

City of Armadale
350mm diameter boreholes crossing roads and footpaths that the client did not want to demolish. The lengths of borehole varied from 20m to 520m.
Energy Australia
Several bores in the Sydney Region. Various sizes from 120mm to 350mm in diameter.

Sydney Water
Firedam have been boring for Sydney Water for over fifteen years. We have completed some boreholes of very large diameter and length in the Blue Mountains for gravity sewer up to 800mm for a 600mm carrier. Firedam have also completed some 900mm diameter MSCL welded boxes at various locations. Back to back, we estimate that the total of these works to be up to 30km in length.

Workcover Australia
A number of bores were completed for Workcover Australia (the governing safety organisation for site works).

Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC)
Numerous bores at different locations were constructed under rail lines for water, sewer and electrical conduit. This work was carried out during the upgrade of several railway stations in NSW.
